i go hungry on Saturday but fed in church on Sunday
i got a Real Good Job on Tuesday
but had to quit on Thursday
i heard too many "you people" on Wednesday
i went to unemployment on Friday
to hear come back on Monday
i went hungry on Saturday
Fed at church on Sunday
the prayer brought me into the unemployment line on Monday
got yelled at for quitting Thursday
said i overreacted on Wednesday
i could've got my $120 check on Friday
she can't find me another job till Monday
so i go hungry on Saturday
Pray for strength on Sunday
to bless me on Monday
i went back to my old job on Tuesday
to get upgraded to "you lazy people" on Wednesday
still mopping floors on Thursday
to get my $120 check on Friday
to feed my kids on Saturday

Freedom Fish poem African Girl 10
I inspire to be
like my ancestors before me
a bright fish in the sea
that finds it's destiny
passing the fisherman's nets that are trying to capture me
swimming to my fate like my ancestors before me
a bright fish that swims FREE
FREE FREE FREE
like my ancestors before me
a bright fish in the sea
that finds it's destiny
passing the fisherman's nets that are trying to capture me
swimming to my fate like my ancestors before me
a bright fish that swims FREE
FREE FREE FREE

The Great Charleston 9 Poem
"The Great Charleston 9"
Departed before their Time
I wish The World had a Rewind
To Erase This Hate Filled Crime
As Long as we Decide
To Choose Love Over Pride
Conquering each Past at a time
Allowing Forgiveness to Reside
In Our Hearts & In Our Minds
Their Spirits Will Remain Alive
Through Hopeful & Determined Eyes
Their Voices will Continue to Thrive
In Our Stories, Songs & Lullabies
Honoring "The Great Charleston 9"

Dare I walk the night - anonymous
I wake at 11:30pm, I dare walk the night
A prisoner of the Sun, i must escape the light
My happiness comes in forms of dreams
But by morning, misery is what it seems
The night doesn't judge but comfort my sins
The morning weeps & scolds my soul from within
I will never be accepted for who I am in the light
I shall stay here free, guided by the moon of the night

My dreams won't be denied 17 years old USA
The next challenge of my mine
A hard one I am certain to find
A step closer to transitioning to what's next in line
Appearing with eyes open, never to be blind
From the cruelty of the lesser kind
Clouds that prevent my stars to shine
Is succeeding in life such a crime?
For me, a black girl in this era of time?
Just like MLK, my dreams won't be denied
I'm striving forward, never looking behind
So let's these words marinate in your own mind

Weird that belongs poem 13 USA
I am the weird that belongs
A bird with no song
A mind without sense
A gate with no fence
A clock without hands
A nomad without land
I am the weird that belongs

Courage is my name
Covered in scars, but i dare not be ashamed
Broken apart, but i refused to feel pain

Love conquers - poem
Love is not for sale
Nor can it be stolen
Love always prevail
For love is always spoken
Love conquers everything and everyone
It Take preference to the weak, young and the old
Love binds them in our hearts forever
Through mind, body and soul
You took my hand - poem from Shay USA
You took my hand and led me astray
You kissed my lips and turned away
My tears runs deep and my cries are long
Lonely nights in my bed, listening to our song
My heart is crawling into a state of despair
Wallowing, wasting in your twisted love affair
